I design, run and secure the infrastructure a company works on top of.

I am an IT System Administrator in İzmir, Turkey. My day covers virtualised servers, Active Directory and access control, firewalls and endpoint protection, backups and the restore tests that prove them, and the ERP the business actually works in. I came to this from computer engineering and project work, so I treat IT as delivery, not repair: a change is planned before it is made and recorded after it is done, and a recovery is rehearsed long before anyone needs it.

I work on the governance side of the same job: information security to ISO/IEC 27001, vendor and licence management, and the transformation projects that follow. I like the part where a system stops being a daily worry and becomes something people forget to think about.
